When You Change Your Perspective

We’d like to tell you a story about someone.

For privacy reasons, we’ll call him Soul.

Soul loved trying new things, and his interests changed often—
singing, dancing, soccer, cooking, photography, drawing, and more.

People frequently told him, “You lack persistence,” or
“Why don’t you just focus on one thing and do it properly?”

Hearing those words made Soul feel discouraged.

Seeing this, teacher gently asked him,
“What do all the things you’ve tried have in common?”

Soul thought about his friends cheering when he scored a goal,
his mom being touched by the soup he made for her,
and his younger sibling carefully holding on to a drawing he made.

“You want to bring joy to others in many different ways, don’t you?”
the teacher said.

At those words, Soul’s face lit up.

Instead of constantly chasing new interests,
he began focusing on his true dream.

As Soul found his own path, he became much happier.
